Swiss Chard Recipe

Ingredients

  • 500g chard (Krautstiel)
  • 50g parmesan
  • 1 tablespoon breadcrumbs (crushed)
  • 1 garlic clove
  • thyme
  • rosemary

Recipe

Preparation

  1. Cut off the white, longish part, cut it into French fries sized chunks (around 5cm long).
  2. Make parmesan powder, mix it with the breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper.

Do It

  1. Put the green leafs in as big pieces as possible carefully into a pan, cook it with high fire for about 2min. Take them out, «remove» the water with a sieve.
  2. Now preheat an oven to 200°C. Prepare a casserole with butter (so stuff doesn't stick to it). Put the green leaves in there and cover them with the parmesan/breadcrumb powder. Bake it for 20min until it is nice and crispy.
  3. Put the white «French fries» into a frying pan with olive oil, add the garlic (pressed) and thyme/rosemary, season. Mix well , then cover with a pan cover for 15min (very low heat). If there is no water left in the pan, add a little (2–3 spoons).
