Subject: [LRUG] [GIVEAWAY] Copies of "The Well Grounded Rubyist (2nd Edition)" to give away
Hi all,
As announced at the start of the meeting on Monday the nice folks at
Infinitium Global have decided to give a little back to the community in
some way. One thing they were keen for is that they were giving back to
the community in a way that would help it grow and encourage folk just
beginning their ruby journey.
With that in mind we settled on a book giveaway of David A. Black's "The
Well Grounded Rubyist (2nd Edition)" (http://manning.com/black3).
This book is a great first ruby book so if you're just starting out with
ruby or fancy a refresher this is an excellent choice.
Infinitium have 20 copies of this book available, so if you'd like one
email me directly and I'll put you in touch with Louis @ Infinitium to
arrange delivery. No questions asked; if you want the book just get in
touch. Do feel free to pass this message on to folk you know that might
want a copy.
Infinitium plan to make this an ongoing arrangement but this first month is
a trial run to gauge demand. We'll run it on a first-come, first-served
basis, but if demand outstrips supply we'll do a deadline and randomised
draw for future books. If it goes well, in future months we might change
the book so if you have any ideas for books (or other giveaways) that would
benefit the newer members of our community please get in touch with those
ideas.
Cheers,
Murray

This offer is now closed and we had many more names than books. We hope to run something similar again so do sign up to our mailing list if you'd like to participate in the future.
