35mm film developing

Requirements

• Water at 20°C
• ADONAL: Developer which equals to Rodinal
• ADOSTOP: Stop agent
• ADOFIX: Fixer
• ADOFLO: Soap for the final rinse
• Termometer
• Graduated glasses (erlenmeyer flasks etc) to mix the products
• Developing tank and reels
• Cotton gloves
• Stopwatch
• Scissors

Step 0 - Extract film

Tips:

• Cut corners of film head
• Darkness

Step 1 - Develop

ADONAL - 1+25: 16ml/400ml water Agitate during first 60 seconds and then every 30 seconds. Times at 20°C:

• AFGA APX 400: 10 minutes (official) or 11.5 minutes (digital truth)
• AFGA APX 100: 6 minutes (official) or 5.5 minutes (digital truth)

Used developer goes to special canister for safe disposal.

Step 2 - Stop

ADOSTOP - 1+19: 21ml/400ml water. Agitate for about 45 seconds continuously.

Step 3 - Fix

ADOFIX - 1+9: 44ml/400ml water. Agitate every 30 seconds for 5 minutes.

Used fixer goes to special canister for safe disposal.

Step 4 - Wash

Tank during one minute under tap water.

Step 5 - Rinse

ADOFLO - 1+400: 1ml/400ml water. Agitate gently during one minute.

Step 6 - Dry

Hang film and let it dry quietly by itself. Attempts to speed up drying may cause it to become prone to roll on itself which then makes things difficult to work with.
