@ianlevesque do you mind if I update it and submit pull request to home assistant?

@KapJI this would be awesome if it was a HA component

The link provided in the code is broken. Is there still an effort to integrate mysmartblinds into hass?

I'm not working on this hass integration anymore because their bridge is terrible (super laggy, doesn't reliably control or read back state). I think this is probably the best supported one now https://github.com/dnschneid/pysmartblinds/blob/master/examples/mysmartblinds.py

@ianlevesque Thanks for the reply and the point in a direction. Performance of these blinds has been lackluster for sure. Hopefully they update the bridge at some point.

How bad are these? I was getting ready to buy a few sets but these comments here are making me think twice. Does anyone know of a better alternative?

@dcmeglio I got them because they were the only kit I saw that could retrofit existing blinds. If you have any other option I'd take it. Charging is unreliable, bluetooth connection is unreliable, the apps are dated and have a poor UX, and the bridge requires a cloud connection that lags like its a commodore 64 colocated on the moon. Also sometimes they randomly close or open without anyone triggering it. When I have the opportunity to buy a new set of blinds (instead of retrofitting), I will switch brands.

@ianlevesque I found https://myiblinds.com/ recently. I like that it is zwave instead of bluetooth but stinks that there is no manual control

Interesting! It may be possible to keep the old string pulls depending on where they put the charging ports.

This is for the twist downrod... When I spoke with them they told me you have to remove the downrod, the hardware doesn't support manual control
