Corrected a few things that weren't up to par when I saw it online. | |
Sorry Aramor's guide will be up soon, at least what I have of it. | |

Version 1.6 | |
Added and changed some equipment with the input from Chern. Thanks | |
Version 1.61 | |
Phung Tuan Hoang for info on the Singing Axe, Thanks. | |
Please Read!!!! | |
This faq was made playing version 0.0.2 | |
It is the one I downloaded from my service provider. Since HandsOn isn't | |
replying to my emails I have searched and found up to version 2.1.7 in | |
Italian version 2.1.4 in English. I am currently playing through that one | |
to see if there's anything different. So far I've noticed subtle differences | |
(in the Temple of Fire there is only the light crest instead of finding both | |
pieces to make the light crest) but nothing too significant. If anything is | |
out of place or different with yours please email me so I may look into it. | |
I will be trying to contact EA(they just bought out HandsOn Korea which is | |
where Heroes Lore was originally released)and see if I can't find out anymore | |
info. Please any help at all from my readers would be of great help. | |

Section 1.4: Tips | |
-Save always, save often. There are no penalties or counters for saves so | |
don't be afraid to. | |
-If you can't beat a boss try just leveling some. It doesn't take that long | |
and really helps | |
-If stuck on a quest go to your menu and go to the quest tab. When there | |
click on the quest and most of the time it will explain everything to you. | |
-Problems with a dungeon puzzle or trying to find an entrance or chest press | |
0 to check the map. Everything you need will be colored blue. | |
-Don't forget you can power up weapons and armor by refining. It won't show | |
up on the item stat screen but if you check your personal stats before and | |
after you will see. | |
-Orbs are nice at times too. Really only a few have very useful effects. But | |
they do help. | |
-Taking advantage of the elements has great results especially at higher | |
levels. Water to Fire, Earth to Water, Fire to Earth. | |
-At the Guardian select screen I recommend Water and Earth. Water you use at | |
the first temple, Earth you use at the second. You don't need Fire until the | |
last. | |
Section 1.5: Leveling | |
Really it's not hard to level high enough to have an easy time through the | |
game. Compared to most rpg's it takes quite a while. Normally just a straight | |
run through the game I'll end around level 42. | |
Now for my personal preference I like to be around level 20 and with the best | |
weapon you can buy before beating the Fire Temple. By then you should be able | |
to complete the fire and water temples with ease and either receive better | |
armor drops or just save up enough money. It shouldn't take any longer then a | |
couple hours to level that high. | |
[1st] | |
This recquires a lot of potions, maybe 20 or 30 wines, the weakest weapon and | |
strongest weapon you can buy. Find a good sized area with at least 2 or 3 Nord | |
spawns in close proximity. Equip your weakest weapon and the water element. | |
Now starting hacking away at them with combos(combos are the most effective in | |
getting them to multiply). After you have enough of them on screen for your | |
liking switch to your strongest weapon(and maybe earth element if you're weak) | |
and just start killing them. After you've cleared the room they will all start | |
to respawn(including the split ones). So just stand around and keeping hacking | |
and slashing and healing as needed. It may take a while but you don't have to | |
move anywhere else and normally they respawn at a nice rate so there's little | |
to no down time. Just don't run out of potions!! | |
[2nd] | |
If you're a hard core gamer and want to attain a high level with the greatest | |
weapons then you're best bet for leveling is waiting till the Forgotten Temple | |
and just grind the Stone Golems. They offer the best experience with the | |
quickest availability. There are 5 in the room just stock up on potions(hp and | |
sp) and equip your fire guardian. Go in unleash a spell and just start comboing | |
away healing as needed. Once they are finished exit, then re enter, then repeat. | |
I am currently at level 56 and it takes me 15 to 30 minutes to gain 1 level. | |
I'm not sure yet how high the levels go but just be warned it's a long grind | |
to the top. | |
Section 2: Walkthrough | |

onto the boss. | |
Boss Attacks: He has 3 attacks, in order he starts out teleporting around the | |
room which if you get hit by his fire it will hurt you, next he will stop | |
and do a flame attack that goes out like a cross, then staying in the | |
same spot he does a major flame attack which unless you are within 1 or 2 | |
squares of him it won't affect you but is the strongest of the attacks. | |
After the last one he pauses for a second and that's your opening. | |
2.1e Basto | |
Head back to Basto. Talk to the village Chief. Then go to Ronin's house then | |
back to the village chief's. Talk to him twice to start two quests. Head over | |
to Lesley's again and start a third. | |

the heading to the temple. If you forget you can still finish it later. | |
Head north from here to the Temple of Water. | |

combo tests. After that go to the house just south of that and start the | |
missing fiance quest(see quests section of details). Can't complete the | |
reference book quest until after the Temple of Earth. | |
2.1l Journey to the Temple of Earth | |
Head out of Solum then head to the east to Hunter's Camp to do the Missing | |
Fiance quest. Then go back and head up to the Temple of Earth. | |
Tip: The Temple of Earth has the highest level monsters in Ronin's game. If | |
you haven't been taking advantage of the elements in the other temples it's | |
a really good idea here. | |
Also Read the Boss Faq before leaving Solum to see how many potions you | |
will need. | |
2.1m Temple of Earth | |

you venture into any of the other rooms just touch the square face etched into | |
the stone(press 0 and look for the blue dot on the map). | |
Note: The letters on the walls are there to help guide you. The correct path | |
that leads on will spell out GEB. So if you're confused just read the letters. | |
(contributed by Dylan) | |
[2nd floor] | |
Items: None | |
In here you will want to head through the southern most exit. The second room | |
just follow it till it ends then push the tile to open up the path. Now go | |
back to the previous room and head through the northern one this time. Follow | |
it to the end and save before touching the stone, it leads to the boss. | |
2.1n Journey to the Forgotten Temple | |
You'll start out in The North of Morionis Forest, head south into Solum. In | |
Solum head north and go into the public office. Inside immediately turn west | |
And talk to the librarian. Get the book and head back to Basto to complete the | |
quest. Now head back to Solum and exit out the west. From here head west to | |
the Northern Central Mountains. From here go to the south west exit into the | |
Central Mountains. Follow this to the south east and head into the temple. | |
2.1o Forgotten Temple | |
Once inside its up to you where to go. The overall objective is to visit all | |
three rooms and touch the circle on the ground then head to the circle in the | |
middle to fight all 3 guardian bosses of the game. To the west is Fire Golems, | |
north is Ice Golems and Nord Spawns, the east is Stone Golems. Now this is the | |
best place to level and mine mithrils and 2 unidentified items(Hero's Shield | |
and Grim Ripper, look in tips section). By now you should be high enough level | |
you can just hack and slash through the fire and water guardians then just use | |
the previous strategy for the earth. Then congratulations you've beaten | |
Ronin's game and can move onto Reah and Aramor. | |

2.2i Journey to Hunter's Camp | |
Items: ]missing[ | |
You start in the Northern Central Mountains. From here head east to the | |
North of Morionis Forest. From here head east once more to reach the Hunters | |
Camp. Go to the shack on the southern side of the map and enter. From here | |
select Yes or No depending on the quest(may have importance on percentage and | |
/or ending but not for sure, have problems with Reah's game as well) | |
2.2j Yes- Rescue Mission Quest Details | |
Items: Prison Key, Chain Boots | |
After choosing yes you leave the shack and head west out of Hunters Camp. | |
From North of Morionis Forest head south to Solum. When in Solum head north | |
and enter the public office. Now go down the southern set of stairs into the | |
jail. Grab the chest which has a key in it and touch the light on the eastern | |
side of the wall to unlock it. Now head back and talk to Lanak then touch the | |
western most light to open a pathway south. Follow it out then head out of | |
Solum. East once more to Hunters Camp and back to the shack(Skip to 2.2l) | |
2.2k No - Something I Don't Know Quest | |
If you say no this is the next quest. You either have to talk to Lesley in | |
Basto, or just head to Solum and talk to Sarah in Alex's house. I believe | |
Sarah gives you the most insight but its up to you. Either way head west out | |
of Hunters Camp then south out of North of Morionis Forest into Solum. | |
From here either go talk to Sarah or head to the Gryphon and transport to | |
Basto and talk to Lesley. When done head out of Solum then back east to | |
Hunters Camp and back to the same shack. | |
2.2l Journey to the Temple of Earth | |
Simply go west out of Hunters Camp then north out of North of Morionis Forest. | |
2.2m Temple of Earth | |
[1st floor] | |
Items:]missing[ | |
From the first room head north. From here you'll want to head to the east, | |
then north(to the east leads to the treasure chest), then north again. If | |
you venture into any of the other rooms just touch the square face etched into | |
the stone(press 0 and look for the blue dot on the map). | |
2.2n Journey to the Forgotten Temple | |
You'll start out in The North of Morionis Forest, head west to | |
the Northern Central Mountains. From here go to the south west exit into the | |
Central Mountains. Follow this to the south east and head into the Forgotten | |
Temple. | |
2.2o Forgotten Temple | |
Reah's game. Only thing left is to beat Aramor's. | |
Section 2.3: Aramor | |
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- | |
2.3a The South of the Jusablow Desert | |
Items: Potion, 500g | |
You start out here and can't go anywhere but to the Temple of Fire. But on an | |
upside he does start out with his level 2 combo. Downside is you can't buy any | |
weapons or armor before the first boss. Best equipment you can get at this | |
point is an Estoc, Hard Buckler, and Chain mail. Also you can obtain the Sword | |
of Fear this early in the game but you'll have to spend a lot of time killing | |
the one Fire Golem repeatedly to do it(plus can't use it till afterwards so | |
you can unidentify it). So Rock Spawns for the Estoc(essential), Chain mail | |
from Fire Golems(optional), Hard Buckler from a chest. | |
2.3b Temple of Fire | |
Items: Strong Short Sword, Hard Buckler, Crest of the Moon, Crest of the Sun | |
[1st floor] | |
In the first room is the Strong Short Sword then head through the east north | |
exit. Second room grab the Hard Buckler head to the west. In here grab the Sun | |
Crest and head back to the main room. Now through the east and grab the Crest | |
of the Moon, then it combines to be the Crest of Light. Go back to the main | |
room and insert it in the icon on the floor(press 0 to find it). Now | |
head through the north west exit and onto the 2nd floor. | |
Items: Leather Armor, Potion, Sealed Water Bottle, Key of the Temple of Fire | |
[2nd floor] | |
In the first room grab the Leather Armor, continue to the north. Second room | |
head towards the south west and touch the north west torch. Go back then go to | |
the north west exit and grab the water from the chest. From the main room head | |
to the north east, use the water on the lava blocking the path then touch the | |
north west torch again to unlock the chest in the main room. The south east | |
exit just leads to a potion. Grab the Key and head through the north to the | |
boss room. | |
2.3c Journey to Basto | |

1on 2off 3on - Emerald, Ice Golems, Boss Chamber | |
2.3k Journey to Locus | |
Just head east out of Lake Locus then south from there to Locus. | |
2.3l Locus | |
Items: Orb of Rage Recipe | |
Here just go to the public office and speak with the refiner here. Afterwards | |
head back north out of town. | |
2.3m Journey to Solum | |
From East of Lake Locus just keep going east until North of Morionis Forest. | |
Start heading towards Solum and you'll see Nigel and Greg there. Talk to them. | |
Note: During the questioning at Hunters Camp. Do not save when given the | |
chance to move around. If you do and Reload you will be stuck in | |
the shack. It's what happened to me lol. | |
2.3n Journey to Path in Central Mountains | |
Items:Greaves | |
Now you're not going to the Forgotten Temple as in the other ones. There's | |
Another part of the Central Mountains you haven't been able to access before. | |
From Hunters Camp just head west out of there then south to Solum. Now use the | |
gryphon and go to Basto. Head north out of town then north once more. Now | |
press 0 and you will see an exit to the east. Go through that and you'll be in | |
the Central Mountains. Go into the Mountains. | |
2.3o Central Mountains Bf | |
Items: High Potion, High Potion | |
I cannot stress this enough. Be Careful!!!! There are the strongest monsters | |
here. They have high defense, attack, and no elemental weaknesses. Most of all | |
be careful of the White Shadows. They are invisible and they spawn quickly | |
as well as hit hard. I have 61 defense with 171 attack and they | |
do 120hp damage. Living Chains are not a huge threat unless they gang up on | |
you, or you forgot to grab pots. Burning Skeletons are second worst. They hit | |
hard and have a good amount of defense. I recommend being at least level | |
40(depending on where you put your stat points). I also recommend at having at | |
least the best of everything you can buy. Also Do not engage the White Shadows | |
unless you are very confident or have a lot of potions and wines with you. | |
To get through here all you have to do is keep heading south. Then once you | |
reach the end a cutscene will induce. Once it ends you have to go back. Once | |
you reach the first room you'll encounter an enemy and be forced to fight Geb. | |
Watch the cutscenes to fill in most blanks about the story line. | |
Section 2.4: Boss Faq | |
2.4a Rocky | |
Attacks: He has 3 attacks, in order he starts out teleporting around the | |
room which if you get hit by his fire it will hurt you, next he will | |
stop and do a flame attack that goes out like a cross, then staying | |
in the same spot he does a major flame attack which unless you are | |
within 1 or 2 squares of him it won't affect you but is the | |
strongest of the attacks. After the last one he pauses for a second | |
and that's your opening. | |
1st: Wait for the opening in the attacks to do a two hit combo then move. If | |
you're having trouble dodging his teleports try moving southward as soon | |
as you see him disappear and he should appear just north of you. It's not | |
worth the risk to attack any other time then the opening I had said | |
before. | |
2.4b Nord | |
Attacks: This one has two different forms but the same basic attack. | |
1st form shoots 3 Ice bolts at you while moving from left | |
to right at the top of the screen. | |
The 2nd looks like a giant squid, and shoots 5 bolts but doesn't | |
move left to right. Instead has 2 tentacles on either side. The | |
left one can attack you anywhere on screen and the right one | |
heals all 3 of them. | |
1st: About the only strategy is equip your Earth element and start with the | |
healing tenticle. If you have it use you're Protection of Earth to help | |
soften the blows. If not ,especially at low levels ,he heals just too | |
quickly. After that either go after the side or the middle.. | |
2.4c Geb | |
Attacks: He has 3 attacks and 3 sections total. He has his head, 2 hands, | |
and his heart(they call it Geb(hack). His attacks follow: both hands | |
smash but the one on the right has a close range attack and a far | |
away attack and alternates between the two, and the third attack his | |
head comes down and breathes 3 sets of rocks at you. His third | |
attack he does 3 times then stops for you to attack him. It's the | |
strongest if you touch his head as it's motioning downward. I have | |
found 2 strategies that work for him. On a side not his hands can | |
only be killed with Hestia's Fire Shield ability. It takes a while | |
and doesn't give any experience but they can be killed. | |
1st: If you have plenty of money stock up on tons of health potions. When you | |
get to the boss wait for him to do his head attack. When he stops just go | |
up to him and continue to unleash combos. Once he rears his head back to | |
start the attack again start hitting the potion button till he knocks you | |
back. If you fail to hit it he will probably kill you. Then just repeat | |
the attacks. | |
2nd: If you don't have the money or don't want to waste it on that just follow | |
this one. Buy at least 50 health potions(you will need some regardless) | |
then head back. You stand just a little outside his reach, not too far or | |
you'll lose out on some attacks, and wait for his head to stop attacking. | |
Go up to him and use your strongest fire spell then hit him 3 or 4 times | |
then run back. If your quick you can get off a whole combo but be careful. | |
Then just repeat the process. When your strong spell is recharging then | |
just use the one before it. It takes a little bit of time but is the | |
safest. | |
After you beat his head it drops to the ground and you have to enter his | |
head. Once inside there's a glowing orb in the middle and 4 Geb Spawns | |
around it. Don't worry about them just run up to the middle and use your | |
strongest fire spell and start hacking away with your combos. Keep an eye | |
on your health and alternate between attacks and spells until it's dead. | |
Section 3: Quests | |

**Invisible monster, have to run into it | |
***Able to multiply if hit multiple times but not killed. If you talk to | |
one person in Solum they mention a monster that splits if not killed in one | |
hit. I think they are referring to them. Going to double check the other | |
spawn monsters as well. | |
(to get this to work equip a weapon you can combo with but not kill them | |
I had a short sword with water element equip. Find a place with 2 or 3 | |
in proximity to themselves and just start hacking away. Make sure you have | |
plenty of wines and potions with you, seems you need to combo for it to be | |
really effective. As you combo for so long more will start to appear. I've | |
counted up to 15 at one time on screen. Best part is that after they split | |
they act as normal respawn monsters so all of them will respawn after so | |
long.) | |
Section 6: Equipment and Items | |
I will update this as I find more. From what I can tell there is a dull and | |
strong version of almost every weapon. Also the weapons dropped by monsters | |
have stat raising abilities. It's pretty much luck of the draw which stats | |
you receive. Only the unidentified items come with orb abilities. | |
TIP: Equipment and weapons also sell for 20% of what you bought it for. | |

Section 7.1: Stats | |
These are labeled as accumulative. Each time it changes it only increases | |
by 1 from it's previous. | |
Stat Points Raised Stat Notes | |
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- | |
Hp 1 12 When you level you gain 1 Imaginary point | |
Sp 1 12 in Hp and Sp. Also you start with 1 given | |
point in Hp and Sp. | |
Power 2 1Att. Power is unique and follows this pattern | |
3 2 and repeats. First 4 raise attack by 1 | |
4 3 then stays the same for 1 point. Also for | |
5 4 1Def. defense every 5 points in power increase | |
6 4 it by 1.(that explains why Reah would have | |
7 5 0 without armor) | |
8 6 | |
9 7 | |
10 8 2 | |
11 8 | |
Defense lv.3 1Def. Every 3 levels it increases it by 1. | |
lv.6 2Def. | |
lv.9 3Def. | |
7.2 Refining | |
Refining does increase attack/defense. It will however not show up on it's | |
stats page but will effect your personal stats. | |
7.2a Weapons | |
Weapons refine in a 3, 2, 3 series. First upgrade adds 3 to attack, second | |
adds 2, third adds 3, fourth adds 2 and so on. On another note refining does | |
not add to sp usage. So you can level up freely without fear of using more sp | |
per attack. | |
7.2b Armor | |
[Armor] | |
Armor goes up by 2 defense per level every level. | |
[Shields] | |
Shields on the other hand only go up by 1. | |
Section 7.3: Weapons vs. Sp Usage | |
There are two types of attacks I've measured so far, weak and strong. I have | |
the weak figured out but still working on the strong and combo effects. I do | |
have most strong attacks so I will list what I have as well. I haven't been | |
able to figure out a pattern though. | |
Weak attacks use 1 more sp per 4 attack strengths. The weak sp will be listed | |
first and strong second. | |
