To correctly use the SFR you need to flash it. Just follow this: https://github.com/oskarpearson/mmeowlink/wiki/Pi-With-Slice-of-Radio Its importand to tune the radio to the right frequency. Use US if you life in US and WW if you are not. You can double check it with your pumps model number on the back. If it ends with WW (and maybe an extra character) you need to use WW.

And of cource a soldering iron, solder, wires, tweezers, side cutters, a steady hand and a few cups of coffee or beer;)
