How the filters work:
In other words first we separate emails into two categories - emails that are meant to be replied to and emails that can not be replied to.
Then we take the "emails that can not be replied to" category and separate the commercial offers of sales and discounts from everything else that can't be responded to. Google likes to have a separate tab for "Forums" which I feel is unnecessary, but take the "everything else that can't be responded to category" and separate that with forum specific keywords like "quoted post" or "view this topic". The idea is that Correspondences or what Gmail calls Primary consists of emails that can be acted upon within Gmail. Things that pester you to go to a different website to respond either falls into what Gmail calls "Forums" or "Updates" or Notifications.
