Kid 1: Can you show me how to do this math problem?
Me: Okay. *shows her how to find the Greatest Common Factor
of two numbers*
Kid 1: I'm just kidding, I already know how to do this. If I
had to give you a grade based on your description, I'd
give you a D. Can I go to the park now?
==
Me: If we wanted to split this sentence up into two main parts,
we'd have the subject here, and the predicate there. So you
could think of this predicate as the subject modifier.
Kid 2: Why does that one guy catch predicates on that TV show then?
Me: That's 'predator'.
==
Kid 1: I want to take a break.
Me: Okay, you've been doing pretty good so far, let's take a 5-minute
break.
(15 minutes later, she comes back and sits down)
Me: Dood, how long did I say your break could be?
Kid 1: Five minutes! But I wrote down here that the GCF of 30 and 45
was 15, so I decided to take 15 minutes instead.
Now can I go to the park?
