When Go messes Git up

This generally happens while trying to run a go get.

Output

cd [...]/go/src/gopkg.in/yaml.v2; git pull --ff-only
You are not currently on a branch.
Please specify which branch you want to merge with.
See git-pull(1) for details.

    git pull <remote> <branch>

package gopkg.in/yaml.v2: exit status 1
