Hi, I know this is a bit late, but do these issues still exist widely? Was really considering a T14/P14/s AMD but have been hearing about the various issues with the BIOS. I've read most of the insanely long threads (including the 84 page one) and I'm starting to rethink my consideration.

Really, I just want to throw Debian on a nice ThinkPad and have it work for school. Sorry for the necropost - most of the larger threads were locked!

Hi @onkoe, I don't follow this as of now, so not entirely sure if that's relavent, let me know if that makes sense to keep this gist, or maybe I should just delete it.

To be completely honest, my beloved thinkpad stayed in Irpin, where ruzzian motherfuckers temporary (I hope) occupied the area, too bad I didn't mine it :-)

But, please let me know if I need to update the list and the items status, though not sure if I would be able to react fast.

In general, I think that some things in Gen 1 (most probably in Gen 2 too) thinkpad would probably never be fixed, or kernel developers might fix it their way, as a workaround or something. Still I loved the chassis/keyboard, support of the most hardware is good enough to forget about the other issues. In the later time I found the sleep drain not that significant for my use.

Hi Ivan! I hope you were once again able to access your belongs in Irpin. I heard that the town has been recovered from Russian occupation - though many have went to meet with family elsewhere.

Anyways, I'm happy to report that my P14s did not need any of these fixes to work well with Fedora Linux 35. In fact, I would call it close to perfect! Everything just worked.

That said, I think you should probably keep this post! It has a lot of history behind the fixes and helps them appear higher on search engines. It also provides info for those on older BIOS versions. Many thanks for your help and continued discussion! :)
