Just a small guide to improve the privacy and performance of google.
Even though google is not the most privacy centered browser in the world, you can still strip out a bunch of the AI and advertising crud
To do this you can change your default search engine to https://google.com/search?q=%s&udm=14 (you can replace .com with your regional address)
- uBlock Origin - Adblocking - chrome webstore / firefox addons / github
- Decentraleyes - Circumventing CDNs - chrome webstore / firefox addons / gitlab
- Don't track me Google - Removes google tracker links from search - chrome webstore / firefox addons / github
- Google container - Containerizes Google history - firefox addons / github
- CustomTube - Brings back the old UI and allows for more configuration options - chrome webstore / firefox addons / github
- Return YouTube Dislike - Brings back dislikes to YouTube - chrome webstore / firefox addons / github
- Navigate to the Google Data and Privacy settings
- Turn off advertisement personalization
- Go through third party apps and services connected to Google and remove the ones you don't use anymore
- Disable store saved app info form signed in devices
- Navigate to your Google activity page
- Enable Google to auto-delete search history older than 3 months old
- Disable and delete web and app activity OPTIONAL (I highly recommend keeping the YouTube history as it kinda breaks without it)
- Navigate to your Google security page
- Go to your devices and remove any devices that you don't use anymore
