Front-end Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the product team, government/client stakeholders, and other contractors to build new systems and make improvements to existing systems
  • Write verifiably accessible code, always
  • Design and spec out major functionality
  • Participate in planning, including breaking down requirements into tasks
  • Test software development methodology in an agile environment
  • Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices
  • Work with designers to review solutions for technical feasibility and accessibility
  • Provide technical documentation so that other engineers can work with your code
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Qualifications

  • Expertise in the building blocks of the web: HTML, CSS, JS
  • Experience building applications using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, and Vue.js
  • Expertise in delivering highly scalable, available, and performant code/application architecture
  • Proficiency in unit and integration testing
  • Highly skilled in writing readible, quality code, and using tools like ESLint
  • Familiarity with Scrum/agile development methodologies

Accessibility Qualifications:

  • Strong expertise with Section 508 laws, WCAG 2.1, and ADA
  • Help answer questions from customers and users around accessibility features and compliance
  • Conduct accessibility testing with assistive technology such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, and Dragon Naturally Speaking to validate user experiences against accessibility standards and best practices
  • Serve as point of contact for accessibility questions and concerns for design and development teams

Work Authorization Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
