Columbus Massage Therapist Recommendation

tl;dr - See https://plus.google.com/117242785508675433416/about?gl=us&hl=en

Recently, someone on Twitter asked for a recommendation for a massage therapist. I ended up emailing the info to that person plus another who happened to see the conversation. Since then, a few more people have asked for the info as well.

Why I Went To a Massage Therapist

I've had lower and upper back pain off and on for over 10 years. I've tried going to chiropractors, orthopedic specialists, and spa-type massage places. Nothing ever works.

Somehow I came across a lady named Karen Zacek near me in Hilliard. She quickly determined that my lower back pain was from my hips being rotated. The reason they were rotated was because of extreme tightness to my right psoas muscle (deep abdominal muscle attached to the spine from the front) and left hamstring. The pain between my shoulder blades was because of tightness in my pectorals pulling my shoulders and back forward, keeping them under constant tension. Who knew?! I was really sore the day after my first treatment, but the pain started to disappear after that. I'm going to try going once a month for maintenance.

About Karen

Karen works independently and operates a no-frills operation out of shared office space in a Nationwide Insurance sales building. This isn't a candles and Zen garden kind of place. She is very good at what she does and is a no-BS kind of person (a plus in my book). She doesn't try to sell you on more visits either. You know your body - she'll tell you to come back if/when you think you need more work.

You can find her info on this Google page.
