Consolidating knowledge in an organisation

How do you store the knowledge?

I tend to introduce a OneNote to consolidate shared knowledge. But use what works best for your environment.

Benefits:

  • read/writability of a Wiki combined with an Office like UI.
  • version history.
  • supports attachments.and inline images
  • excellent search, also in images best of all: it syncs offline and you can optionally host it in a Sharepoint library.
  • one click to email entire page
  • permalink to any page
  • allows collaborative writing

If you're new somewhere, how do you acquire the knowledge?

Intentionally and by accident.

Amplify knowledge sharing: e.g. when emailing knowledge with one or a few persons, instead add knowledge to the notebook and share the link instead.
