Proposal for additional shares for member 0xf754eee52ae08568201c56f51ba985638edae1c4
# Overture
Dear Molochians,
Thank you for your attention. I would like to make a proposal to increase my contribution to MolochDAO and, in doing so, acquire more voting shares and influence in the organization. I explain my motivation and reasoning below. As I have not shared my MolochDAO membership publicly, I would appreciate it if you please kindly keep the fact of my membership and this proposal confidential.
Thank you,
0xf754eee52ae08568201c56f51ba985638edae1c4
## Motivation
I am deeply involved in the blockchain space, and I am currently engaged in decentralized governance research. I would love to see MolochDAO succeed as an early DAO experiment and I am willing to allocate my personal capital to this endeavor and see it through.
At the same time, I think DAOs are hard. Given my experience studying decentralized governance, I think I am in a good position to influence MolochDAO to make better decisions in the short term that help to set it up for long term success.
## My platform
The following bullet points describe how I think about MolochDAO and how I am likely to vote in its political context given enhanced influence.
* I think decentralization should happen slowly over time. I will be conservative in terms of new memberships until such time as the MolochDAO organization is better served by regular processes. I will vote against low-contribution members. I will try to prevent an influx of new memberships, realizing that coordination costs of new members will grow faster than the capital they contribute.
* Short term, I will focus on the organizational aspects of MolochDAO (structure, leaders, delegation, regular meetings, standards, liveness, coordination tools, etc.). I believe having a solid process around our organization will be the some of the prerequisite to success. I also believe that user experience of molochdao.com, in addition to process, will be important in lowering the friction of the organization; I will therefore consistently vote to improve our experience, including identity products like 3box.io integration that has been proposed.
* Medium term, when I believe MolochDAO is presentable and usable, I will use my network to attract high-contribution members to MolochDAO and support their membership proposals. Ultimately, as a grant-writing DAO, capital contributions will be of utmost importance in building the network effect of the DAO within the Ethereum ecosystem. I will also support the hiring of a business development advocate who will help to raise donations on behalf of MolochDAO.
* Medium term, I will support very conservative upgrades to the MolochDAO smart contracts. In an effort to increase liveness, I will support, for instance, liquid democracy and shares delegation. I believe these kinds of features will allow us to more effectively make progress, to select leaders, and to experiment with governance structures that are novel and interesting.
* Over time, as I become more satisfied that MolochDAO has implemented an effective organizational structure, I will become less conservative and will be more likely to (1) vote in new members at smaller contribution size, (2) support novel ecosystem projects, and (3) experiment with our governance structure.
## My proposal
I propose to acquire 100 MolochDAO shares for the price of 50 ETH. Given Ether appreciation since February 15th, 2019, this is approximately the same dollar-denominated value as my original contribution. So I am approximately doubling both my dollar-denominated stake and my shares, and taking a discount on the back of my experience and contributions. I believe this is reasonable.
## Final thoughts
Please vote for my proposal! I am here to serve the DAO's interests.
