nginx ssl config with multiple SNI vhosts and A+ SSL Labs score as of 2014-11-05

Configuring nginx for SSL SNI vhosts

Gotchas

Remarks

  • My version of konklones SSL config does not have SPDY support(my nginx+openssl does not support it)
  • You need a default ssl server (example.org-default.conf).
  • Some SSL-options have to be unique across your instance, so it's easier to have them in a common file(ssl.conf).

Automatically fix PEP-8 issues using Travis-CI

PEP-8 is a set of Python style recommendations. pep8 is a module that checks your .py file for violations. To make your Travis-CI build fail if you have any violations, you could add these lines to your .travis.yml:

before_install:
    - pip install pep8

script:
    # Run pep8 on all .py files in all subfolders
    # (I ignore "E402: module level import not at top of file"
    # because of use case sys.path.append('..'); import <module>)

CSS Xbox One Achievement

As an avid Xbox Gamer and always wanting to push myself, I decided to recreate the Xbox One Achievement Toast. ou can see a video example of it here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgwkK2uUk1c&feature=youtu.be

All I need to do now, is play this to make it complete - (Achievement Notification Sound) http://majornelson.com/2011/10/07/download-the-achievement-unlocked-sound/

Here is an example of the old 360 one - http://codepen.io/jesseGlacken/details/uwtsx/

Prevent proxy/VPN streaming error messages from Netflix when using a Hurricane Electric IPv6 tunnel.

Workarounds for Netflix and the blocking of Hurricane Electric IPv6 tunnels

The dreaded "You seem to be using an unblocker or proxy." error message. Cool story bro.

This gist was essentially created out of my own rant about Netflix being hostile to IPv6 tunnel services since June 2016. You are welcome to read my opinion on the matter, this is the more technical side to the issue and how to combat it within your own network.

Since I wrote this, various GitHub users have contributed their thoughts and ideas which has been incorporated into this gist. Thank you to everyone who have contributed their own methods and implementations.

The problem

Netflix now treats IPv6 tunnel brokers (such as Hurricane Electric) as proxy servers. A while ago it became apparent to users and Netflix that somewhat by accident, IPv6 tunnel users were being served content outside of their geolocation because of the way Netflix was identifyi

[WINDOWS] How to enable auto-signing Git commits with GnuPG for programs that don't support it natively

[WINDOWS] How to enable auto-signing Git commits with GnuPG for programs that don't support it natively

This is a step-by-step guide on how to enable auto-signing Git commits with GPG for every applications that don't support it natively (eg. GitHub Desktop, Eclipse, Git Tower, ...)

Requirements

  • Install GPG4Win: this software is a bundle with latest version of GnuPG v2, Kleopatra v3 certificate manager, GNU Privacy Assistant (GPA) v0.9 which is a GUI that uses GTK+, GpgOL and GpgEX that are respectively an extension for MS Outlook and an extension for Windows Explorer shell
  • Install Git for Windows: so you can have a *nix based shell, this software is a bundle with latest version of Git which use MINGW environment, a Git bash shell, a Git GUI and an extension for Windows Explorer shell (Make sure your local version of Git is at least 2.0, otherwise Git don't have support for automatically sign your commits)

Dump games with godmode9

Dumping games with Godmode9

Dumping games is the act of taking a game from your system or gamecart and copying it into a readable format onto your SD card. Dumping is perfectly legal if you keep the dumps to yourself, however sharing these dumps is piracy and is illegal.

This guide will tell you how to dump games from various formats and for various purposes. Dumping 3DS cartriges as .cia files is good if you want to install them to your system. Dumping them as .3ds files is good for emulators. Installed titles cannot be dumped as .3ds files. NDS cartiges can only be dumped as .nds files and cannot be installed (however, you can play them with emulators or flashcarts).

Dumping the RomFS of a game is primarily for romhacking purposess.

Configure Password Autofill on a React Native Expo app

Password Autofill on a React Native Expo app

Developing an app to accompany our website, worried that we would lose people in the transition if they couldn't remember their password, we were looking to make our app do Password AutoFill, a feature in iOS.

A talk from WWDC introducing the feature: https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2017/206/

It works well, but there were a few bumps in the road making it work for React Native on Expo, so here are some notes to help out.

Apple's docs are here: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/security/password_autofill and they say something like this:
