French Toast Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of bread
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups half & half
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Topping:

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/3 cup dark brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp syrup
  • 1 1/3 cup rough chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Grease a 13x9 pan and fill with bread slices
  • Beat together eggs, milk, half & half, vanilla, and spices
  • Pour mixture over the bread and refrigerate overnight
  • Melt the butter and mix in brown sugar and syrup until free of lumps
  • Fold in the pecans and spread the topping over the bread
  • Bake at 350° for 50 minutes
