This is a board game called
The board is separated into two sides, the
"North Pole" and the "South Pole." On each side of the
board there are seven cities, one of which is the player's
home city. | |
A player's home city is the only city that their
penguin may visit during a turn. Players start the game
with one of their two penguins in their home city.
Each city has a number next to it. That number is
the amount of victory points a player gains from
visiting that city. | |
In addition to the cities, there are eight
signposts on the board. When a player lands on one of
these signposts, they read the signpost's message and
either perform the action described on the signpost or gain
the listed bonus. | |
The board contains four "Polar Treats": the
"North Pole" and the "South Pole" treat spaces, where
a player gets a treat card; the "Season" treat space, where
a player gets a treat card and advances their season marker;
and the "End Game" treat space, where a player gets a treat card
and ends the game. | |
In the center of the board is the action
space, which contains four action cards. A player may use
an action card anytime during their turn (after they have
landed on a signpost and before they roll a die) to perform
the action on that card.
A player may use only one action card
during their turn. A player may use an action card a second
time only if they land on the same signpost a second
time. | |
Next to the action cards is the exploration
space, which contains five exploration cards. A player may
draw an exploration card from the deck of exploration
cards anytime during their turn.

One of the goal cards is placed face up in the center of
the board as the game goal card. This card shows the number
of victory points a player must reach to win the game.
To setup the game, first place the city tokens in the
eight cities on the board. Use one token for each city,
including the player's home city.
Then set aside some of the following pieces: seven
x1 victory point tokens and five x5 victory point tokens.
Place these on the space below the victory point track
near the game board. These will be used when players
receive bonus victory points.
Next, deal out the following exploration cards:
three face up to create the "Exploration Deck" and five
face down to create the "Exploration Row." Place the
exploration cards face down in a line next to the game board.
Next, deal out the following treat cards:
four face up to create the "Treat Deck" and eight face
down to create the "Treat Row." Place the treat cards face
down in a line next to the game board.
Then place the following pieces near the game board:
Five "5" victory point tokens.
One wooden penguin of each color, except black.
Place one of each color of penguin near the board
next to each player's home city.
Place the following pieces near the board:
One "1" victory point token.
Six "4" victory point tokens.
One home city marker for each player.
Five "3" victory point tokens.
Place the following pieces near the board:
Ten exploration cards.
Five "6" victory point tokens.
Place the following pieces by the side of the
board: One die of each color.
Blue | |
Yellow | |
Red | |
Green | |
Purple | |
Place the following pieces near the board:
The rest of the colored dice.

Place the following pieces back in the supply:
Three "1" victory point tokens, two "4" victory point
tokens, and two "3" victory point tokens.
The goal card "12" is now the goal card.
Finally, sort the pieces using the pictures above or the
