We have some big projects and things coming up so looking to expand our dev team, I'll link to the 'official' job ads at the end but as a Principal Developer @ Box UK, here's my take.
Although the ad stipulates the dreaded 'competitive salary' I can hopefully give you a rough idea based on my experience:
- Graduate/Junior level: up to Β£20k
- Mid/Senior level: Β£20 - Β£40k
- Senior/Principal level: Β£40k+
This is just a rough idea, in reality it's really down to your skillset and what you can offer.
PHP, hopefully mainly PHP7(.1/2/3/4)/PHP8.
Symfony, versions 2.8 and above. We have one project on 4 and looking to upgrade the others.
Drupal, version 8.9 and looking to move to 9 soon.
WordPress, we partner with WordPress VIP and WPEngine and work mostly through creating custom themes and plugins for our clients needs. We like and are excited about the block editor and are looking to do more in this space.

We use github and travis for our day to day work.
We use mostly docker for local development but also ansible and vagrant in places.
We do a lot of stuff with AWS but also some azure, google cloud and also WP VIP and WPEngine as previously mentioned.
We have perkbox https://www.perkbox.com/uk/ where you can get things like free coffee, free greggs sausage rolls and free movies from Rakuten (plus loads of money off and things)
We work with agility, generally in a scrum like fashion.
We believe in our process but not religious about it. We are constantly looking to improve in any way we can.

We do regular tech talks on a wide range of topics, we have an in house UX team, systems team as well as PHP/WordPress/Drupal stuff so plenty of opportunity to cross pollinate.
We are based smack bang in the middle of all the cool pubs in which we regularly frequent. If you don't like to socialise in the pub, we do loads of other things too, like ice skating, football etc.
We have a table tennis table if that's your thing.
We have a well stocked library where you can order any books you want/need.
We have Herman Miller chairs.
You get a choice of computer/operating system.
Flexi time, loads of autonomy, a real 'white board' culture.
We're directly opposite the principality stadium, in the time I've been here I've got to experience the olympic games, rugby world cup, champions league final, justin bieber fans (?!) not to mention the 6 nations rugby every year.
In the past we've had people like Ross Tuck and Mathias Verraes come to the office to give workshops and are looking to do much more of this kind of thing.
We had some of the team based remotely full time before the pandemic and now obviously we all are. We are well set up for it.
Everything is cloud based, we've really strived to make everything async and continue to try to improve this.
We have zoom cameras set up in meeting rooms throughout the office for video conferencing etc.
We use slack for real time communication (RIP hipchat β).
We do weekly check ins with the wider team, have weekly games meetings (among us etc.)
We encourage and enjoy fun backgrounds and silly filters.
A zoom interview where we ask a bunch of non technical and technical questions. No coding tests or anything like that, obviously will be technical questions to learn about your programming ability but we're more interested in attitude and appetite that your ability to recite a binary search.
