Shell script to package java code as a native OS X application.
#! /bin/bash
################
# package.sh
#
# Packages java code as a native OS X application
#
# - Fetches source for a Java Swing HelloWorld application from the web
# - Compiles the source
# - Packages the source into a native Mac application
# - Installs the native Mac application
# - Runs the native Mac Application
#
# Requires:
# OS X 10.8+
# Java 8u60+ (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html)
# super user rights on the execution account
#
# During first-time execution, the process may detect some additional Apple developer software is needed
# to create the dmg file, and may throw up a license prompt and initiate the download
# Answer yes to such prompts and allow the software to install (requires about 2.5 gigbytes of space)
# The software is installed is offical Apple developer software.
#
# You may see some messages "Did not find a key matching <some string>"" AND "No Mac App Store App Signing Key"
# The missing key messages can be safely ignored unless you actually want to sign your code with a valid
# Mac App Store Signing Key.
#
# To Use:
# chmod +x package.sh
# ./package.sh
# As the script executes sudo commands, enter your
# superuser password as needed.
