I usually set my Baratza Encore around 16 setting, but I also move it by 2 in either direction for the first couple of cups when I switch beans to find a sweet spot.
1. Boil water to 175F (I have a Breville Smart Kettle with preprogrammed temps)
2. Grind up 1 Aeropress scoop of coffee (roughly 16g)
3. Pre-wet the filter paper and plunger
4. Assemble the Aeropress filter and place over your cup
5. Pour grinds into Aeropress and shake to even out the grind bed
6. Pour water into the Aeropress up to the bottom of the #4 circle ‘vigorously’ so everything mixes with its own force
7. Put the plunger in just at the top to provide some back pressure so that nothing leaks out the bottom (some water may leak out initially, not a huge deal)
8. Wait 45s
