Drupal Dynamic VHost Configuration

/etc/dnsmasq.d/dev

Use dnsmasq to serve up the local address for any subdomain of "dev"

Requires a working dnsmasq configuration. (May require reboot.)

sudo apt-get install dnsmasq

/etc/apache2/sites-available/dev.conf

*.dev vhost for Apache2, configured to look for subdomains under /var/www/dev/SUBDOMAIN. Must redefine Drupal .htaccess behavior because an Apache vhost can't affect the RewriteBase of an .htaccess file.

Requires mod_vhost_alias (as well as default Drupal deps)

sudo a2enmod vhost_alias rewrite expires headers
sudo a2ensite dev.conf

~/.drush/aliases.drushrc.php

Configure drush to have an alias (@SUBDOMAIN) with the correct webroot and URI for each subdomain.
