Heartpts description for fbFund
purpose
=======
Heartpts is the point system of love. It provides a fun way for a couple to keep the score and provide a channel for better communication.
application information
=======================
Heartpts allows someone in a relationship to give or subtract points from his/her partner and provide a reason. The visible number of points adds a fun competitive element to communication in a relationship.
In the future, I see Heartpts providing goals that couples can set up and try to obtain by trying to improve their relationship. These goals may be coupled with things such as a movie date or dinner with which I would want to provide some sort of discount for users.
probelm
=======
Relationships can lack proper communication and its a shame.
There is no gage to measure the importance of one's actions as they affect the other in the relationship.
solution
========
Heartpts provides a quick and easy way to communicate in a fun way by implementing characteristics of a game using a point system. This way the current balance of the relationship is visible and areas of importance can be related to other actions.
use of funds
============
Funds would go towards increasing development team size to implement new features, real world test studies, and expanding features to include rewards.
market size
===========
This app is targeted to all those in relationships. According to facebook profile search, 369 of my 405 friends are "in a relationship" and that's a good percent.
competition
===========
There are currently no competitors that are taking the same approach. Currently most are targeting those that are not in a relationship with applications that are of the gift sort.
business model
==============
Revenue would come from referrals to partners for rewards (ie, movie tickets and dinner gift certificates).
In the future integration with twitter, a mobile version and iphone app.
