Open source CDN looking for contributors

Hey guys, I run the project jsDelivr which is a free open source CDN for developers.

The main feature of it is availability and performance. We operate a big system that offers as much availability as possible utilizing smart multi-CDN routing.

You can read about it in our repo https://github.com/jsdelivr/jsdelivr and on Mozilla Blog https://hacks.mozilla.org/2014/03/jsdelivr-the-advanced-open-source-public-cdn/

Its been 2 years since the project launched and today we have a small team of active contributors that help out with different components of the project.

We are also sponsored by companies such as MaxCDN, CloudFlare, Cedexis, Leapswitch, Prometeus and ExpertVM.

But we still need all the help we can get. We have lots of ideas but not enough man power or money to make them happen.

Currently the biggest blockers are:

Other tasks:

  • libgrabber is a project that can auto-update all jsDelivr hosted projects. It works but the project needs a dedicated developer that will maintain it and add new cool features https://github.com/jsdelivr/libgrabber
  • Looking for web performance people to review our infrastructure and suggest improvements
  • Get in contact with companies that can help us out.
  • Servers or CDN in China and Russia
  • More RUM tests

The most important resource we are looking for is active contributors. Doesn't matter what you can do, we can find stuff to do for everybody.

Mail me if you are interested or simply start replying to issues in Github. You can also join our chat https://gitter.im/jsdelivr/jsdelivr
