APRS frequencies in Japan

Nationwide channels

144MHz / 2m

  • 144.64MHz: GMSK 9600bps
  • 144.66MHz: FSK 1200bps

430MHz / 70cm

  • 431.04MHz: FSK 1200bps
  • 431.06MHz: GMSK 9600bps

JA band plan legal restriction (mandatory)

FM wide-band (>= 3kHz) data transmission are restricted in:

  • 144MHz: 144.60 ~ 144.70MHz, 145.65 ~ 145.80 MHz
  • 430MHz: 431.00 ~ 431.40MHz, 438.00 ~ 439.00 MHz

Preference

  • Use 9600bps as possible to avoid interference from the other stations
  • Use 144MHz / 2m for more stable propagation
