List your longterm goal(s) of what you want to accomplish by the end of module 4
- I want to have been interviewed (at least marginally) by 2 companies by the end of mod 4.
In this section, break down your longterm goal into smaller goals that you want to work on each week and/or day
- Each week, I will indentify 3 new companies and reach out to people (1-2) at each company
- Every day, I will visit Trello to remind myself of what needs to be done
How will you focus your learning to accomplish your longterm goal?
- I need to build a portfolio I can show off to people. Towards this end, I will:
- Revisit old projects to add detailed README's
- Look for opportunities for projects I could refactor and/or deploy
How will you continue researching companies and contacts? How will you utilize your Trello Board?
- I will research mid-size tech companies in my target cities
- I will look for apprenticeships at larger companies
- I will keep Trello updated with this information
*Who will you reach out to? Have you considered talking with alumni about their own networking practices when they started their job search?
- I will reach out current contact I have in the area for ideas
- I will join relevant Slack channels and introduce myself
How might personal branding pieces help you towards your goal?
- I'm going to apply for jobs that I probably am underqualified for. To help my chances:
- Spruce up my personal site to make it halfway decent, and get my own domain
What will you do when?
- By intermission week:
- Have a list of at least 5 companies worth contacting
- During intermission week:
- Turn up the gas on identifying companies
- Fix up portfolio projects and spruce up Github in general
- After intermission week:
- Prioritize the job search
What will you do throughout the module?
- I have an updated calendar with relevant tasks
What will you do throughout each week?
- Each week, I will indentify 3 new companies and reach out to people (1-2) at each company
- Every day, I will visit Trello to remind myself of what needs to be done
