Rules for life

Child

  1. Be nice to others.
  2. It's okay to say "no."
  3. Don't take what belongs to someone else.
  4. Be willing to share.
  5. It's okay to cry. It's better to solve the problem.
  6. Try a new thing each week.
  7. Learn to do things yourself, then teach others.
  8. If you make a mess, clean it up.
  9. Don't hide in books.
  10. Learn from your mistakes.
  11. Help those who are being bullied.
  12. Be willing to listen rather than speak.

Young adult

  1. You have incredible potential to be good.
  2. Life has suffering. Reduce it around you.
  3. People will disagree with you.
  4. Learn from others, define yourself.
  5. Don't adopt ideas without understanding them.
  6. Don't attempt to change things without understanding them.
  7. You don't have to add more weight to the bar each day.
  8. To disagree with someone does not make you superior.
  9. Stand behind what you say and do, admit when you're wrong.
  10. Go for a walk in the outdoors.
  11. Live your life as though you were already dead. (Aurelius)
  12. Life is not a fixed set of rules. Add your own.
