###Method

  • Daily snowfall data from 2013 collected by National Weather Service (NWS) Cooperative Observer stations and NWS First Order stations was used. This data was obtained from NOAA.
  • List of institutions and their locations obtained from Wikipedia.
  • The Google Geocoding API was used to obtain the approximate geographic coordinates of each city in which institutes exist. These coordinates were then used to find the nearest station for each city.
