Pure ESM package

Pure ESM package

The package that linked you here is now pure ESM. It cannot be require()'d from CommonJS.

This means you have the following choices:

  1. Use ESM yourself. (preferred)
Use import foo from 'foo' instead of const foo = require('foo') to import the package. You also need to put "type": "module" in your package.json and more. Follow the below guide.
  2. If the package is used in an async context, you could use await import(…) from CommonJS instead of require(…).
  3. Stay on the existing version of the package until you can move to ESM.

Amazon Linux 2 - install docker & docker-compose using 'sudo amazon-linux-extras' command

UPDATE (March 2020, thanks @ic): I don't know the exact AMI version but yum install docker now works on the latest Amazon Linux 2. The instructions below may still be relevant depending on the vintage AMI you are using.

Amazon changed the install in Linux 2. One no-longer using 'yum' See: https://aws.amazon.com/amazon-linux-2/release-notes/

Docker CE Install

sudo amazon-linux-extras install docker
sudo service docker start
git tag -am "annotation goes here" tagname_goes_here # cut a tag
git tag -d tagname_goes_here # burn it
git tag -am "annotation goes here" tagname_goes_here # cut another tag
git push --tags # push tags to remote
git push origin :refs/tags/tagname_goes_here # delete tag from remote
