IMHO a changelog is an essential part of a firware release.
At the time of writing, Fazua does not provide a changelog for their firmware, so users are left in the dark as to what's changed in a new firmare file.
This document tries to gather that information, so consumers can make educated decisions about their ebikes drivetrain updates.
Disclaimer: I do not have any connection to Fazua whatsoever, except for riding a bike with their drivetrain.
All information contained in this document are hearsay and do not come with any warranty, either explicit or implied.
If any of you out there have more information: Updates are welcome :-)
2.0 black pepper (will be released around easter)
=================================================
This is a new major release, that Fazua carefully prepared in 2019 and 2020.
Information regarding this update is still scarce, but I dug some sources:
* https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tc--rqcJJUk
* https://www.pedelecforum.de/forum/index.php?threads/fazua-wer-hat-infos-oder-erfahrungen.65169/page-19
General
-------
* increased cadence spectrum, in which the system will support the rider. Optimal assist will be in the range of 55-120 rpm.
* increased efficiency (better performance while maintaining similar power consumption)
* update enables a Bluetooth connection between the remote and bike computers. The BLE protocols "Cycling Power Service (CPS)" and "Cycling Speed & Cadence Service (CSCS)" allow the display of cadence, speed and rider performance on compatible devices.
* the 3 support-modes are now user-configurable
* Noticeable increase in torque (according to the info from Fazua in the forum linked above)
* Peak assist still provides 55Nm torque (according to the Fazua employee in the video)
These two points seemingly contradict each other. IMHO the torque will stay at 55Nm, but the rider will notice an 'increase in torque' because of a changed assist curve.
Changes in modes
----------------
* Breeze: Motor assist sets in even smoother than before
* River / Rocket: Motor assists more aggressively right from the start
