Runnerspace Instructions

  1. Visit runnerspace.com
  2. Scroll through the homepage with your partner, discuss the layout and design. Do you think its set up in a logical way? Why would someone use this website? Some logical structure, but there's too much going on, too busy. For an unfamiliar user it's a lot. Lots of jumping content, weird hover states that are persistent. Duplication, maybe?
  3. Complete the follow tasks below. As you go the list, make sure to discuss the steps you took and if things were where you expected them to be on the site.
  • As a guest user, add a comment to any article. It says you can add a comment in the text box, but clicking into it makes you create an account. The comment section is below article.

  • Find and watch a video associated with any team in Colorado on the runnerspace website. So much popping up and moving around. Search bar isn't context specific Weird bugs Can go by race, brings you to other sites without telling you.

  • Go to the "Maine vs New Hampshire Indoor Duel 2017." What was Lauren Quann's distance in shot put? 9.42m Can find event Search searches all events, says folders. Got to open up full article and control + F.

  1. What is your overall opinion on this website - did you find that it was usable? If not, which things would you design differently? Too much going on, there are lots of places leading to the same thing. Lots of the times the page resets, there's tons of redirection without telling you, the search feature is unclear and lacking (cant organize type). Tons of duplicate functionality (lots of search fields). The layout is not at all intuitive, we had directions, but under other circumstances you'd probably just bail. The ads are criminal too.
