HTML and JS for an internal HIT posted on MTurk

You are about to help design a potential new HIT that could give you a bonus payment. In this future HIT, a worker will transcribe a paragraph (sample here). They will be paid START cents. After the 1st paragraph, the worker will be offered X cents to transcribe another, similar paragraph. You decide how large X is. You can select any X you want, up to Y cents. How much you get paid depends on how the future worker responds to your offer:

• If the worker accepts your offer, you get Y-X cents; the other worker gets X cents.
• If the worker rejects your offer, you get 0 cents; the other worker gets 0 cents.

Example: Y=15 cents. You offer X=12 cents. If the worker accepts, you get 3 cents. If they reject the offer, you get nothing.
Important: We will collect all responses that we are given for this task, and implement one response at random in a real HIT. If your HIT is selected, you will be paid according to the response of the future worker who is offered to work under the respective conditions of your HIT. Potential values for Y can range from 5 to 35. You will be assigned a random amount within that range.

Two quick questions (you will only have to answer them once)

What country do you live in now?

Are you male or female?

• The worker was paid \${base_wage} cents for their first transcription (START=\${base_wage} cents).
• You have Y = \${Y} cents.
• The worker will know that your Y was randomly selected between 5 cents and 35 cents.
