First Fiasco Play Report.
Played Fiasco (a GM less storytelling RPG. see www.bullypulpitgames.com/games/fiasco) with Morgan Cahn, Erin Hardee, and Morag Hannah... Here is the story that we created. It is slightly edited because I didn't take the best notes, and also slightly edited to make the scene transitions work a bit better.
ACT 1
JJ is a struggling business man, looking for any way to keep is failing parts company from being purchased by Charlotte Steadler. He attempts to get small time criminal sweets to hold his champion dog for him, while he commits dognap insurance fraud.
Before he is able to get Sweets to hold his dog for him, he is brought into a meeting with Charlotte, who attempts to strong arm him into signing the paper to sell his business to her. Charlotte wants to take both of these businesses and convert them into a philanthropic organizations. During this meeting, JJ begins to show cracks in his personality, threatening Charlottes business.
Meanwhile, Sweets is being talked to by her brother Gunter, who wants her to clean up her life, and stop doing petty theft. He calls the cops on her because she is storing stolen goods at their parents house. She just walks away.
Charlotte calls up her former lover Gunter, and want to give him a heads up about the fact that his sister is meeting with her business rival JJ under extremely questionable circumstances. Not only that but Charlotte convinces Gunter to give her money to move to her next business. Gunter wants her love, but she doesn't want anything to seem out of sorts with the loan, so she denies him.
JJ has a change of plans, decides that the insurance fraud on his kidnapped dog won't be quick enough, and kills the dog in an attempt to frame his business rival as a dog murderer. The cops buy his story miraculously, and hold charlotte.
Gunter meets up with his sister sweets at the social service office, and tries to convince her to go to the cops and tell her about JJs plans. Sweets instead decides to go confront JJ directly to get the money that he owed her for holding the dog. This confrontation escalates into a fist fight, and then further into Sweets spraying a spray can in JJs face, and leaving without any money.
Meanwhile Charlotte brings her lawyers in and they convince the cops that it was a frameup. Gunter also provides information of the fact that he provided her with money and she no longer needs to purchase JJs business.
ACT 2
Charlotte tries to convince Gunter to go to the police and turn sweets in to keep her out of additional trouble with JJ.
Gunter instead goes directly to JJ to tell him to stop messing with her sister. Predictably, JJ flips out and smashes Gunters head with a bottle of scotch. He then proceeds to go on a walk.
Gunter manages to get in contact with sweets who drives him to the hospital. During the drive, they have a conversation, and sweets decides to fix her life and stop working with JJ.
JJ, feeling that he hasn't gone far enough with the first frame job, returns to his building and burns it down. He returns to the police to convince them that Charlotte burned it down. The police ask him to stick around, but due to poor oversight at the police station, he just walks out.
JJ goes to one place he knows sweets will be at, the social services office. Again, his confrontation with sweets escalates to a fist fight, this time spilling down the stairs and out into the parking lot. Again sweets gets the upper hand, this time locking him in the trunk of his car, and driving to her brother Gunter in the hospital to ask him what to do.
While Sweets is talking with Gunter about what to do, a police officer walking through the hospital overhears the conversation. He goes out to the parking lot and finds JJ in the trunk of a car. He then goes back into the hospital and arrests Sweets.
Gunter again calls Charlotte, saying that he knowns nowhere else to go, and asks her to marry him. Charlotte finally relents.
EPILOG.
JJ is released from all of his various assault charges, buys a new dog, and finds an opportunity to take out his anger on office furniture without it effecting anyone else.
Charlotte takes all the money that she has raised from Gunter, and parleys that into a jetsetting, almost undoubtedly crooked fundraising world tour. While Gunter sits home and mopes, she finds love and money in a million different cities.
Gunter discovers slowly that Charlotte didn't love him at all, and has left him at home alone. Having nothing else to do, he turns to a life of petty crime, stealing and selling TVs.
Sweets was released from prison because JJ didn't press charges. After doing a bit of petty theft, she decided to give it up, donated all of her stolen goods to a tent city. When doing this, she noticed he brother Gunter trying to sell some stolen TVs. Convincing him to join her in her car, they drive out of the city, and into the sunset.
