\begin{enumerate}
\item \emph{What is the National Science Foundation?}\\
The \textsc{NSF} is where discoveries begin.
\item\begin{enumerate}
\item \emph{What this foundation do?}\\
They support fundamental research and education in all the non-medical fields of science and engineering.
\item \emph{What the mission is?}\\
To promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; and to secure the national defense.
\end{enumerate}
\item \emph{Who funds this foundation?}\\
The \textsc{U.S.} funds it.
\item \emph{How much money does this foundation have?}\\
Annual budget = \$6.02 billion.
\item \emph{Go to the following link: \url{http://www.nsf.gov/discoveries}. Peruse some of these discoveries: find and summarize a few that you find interesting.}
\paragraph{Tiny Galaxies Reveal How First Stars Formed}
It is not understood how dwarf galaxies can form stars, but they do. Further research is needed to understand the dynamics of dwarf galaxies, which may provide insights into the early workings of our universe.
\paragraph{Breakthrough in Electron Spin Control Brings Quantum Computers Closer to Reality}
Previous attempts to control electron spin have spewed out microwaves that force the nearby electrons to adopt the same spin. A pair of electromagnetic waves can now be used to change the spin of a single electron; then the waves destructively interfere so that they cannot asplode the other electron-spins.
\item \emph{what are some of the more significant projects/discoveries that \textsc{NSF} has funded?}\\
Please see \#5.
\item \emph{Is funding the \textsc{NSF} a worthwhile endeavor?}\\
Yes. \textsc{SCIENCE}
\item \emph{Does it seem to you that the discoveries you perused above are relevant and worthwhile? Or could this funding be better spent elsewhere? What is the value of having an \textsc{NSF}}\\
Yes, they seem pretty bad-ass. Science is always good, also the way of the future. Perhaps we should divert funds from ridiculous bureaucracies to science. We need an \textsc{NSF} because we don't want the socialists to trick the world into thinking that they are better at Science than America.
\item \emph{When was the \textsc{NSF} started and why?}\\
The \textsc{NSF} was established by the National Science Foundation Act of 1950. Its mission is stated in \#2. Also, to promote \textsc{science} and \textsc{justice} throughout the galaxy.
