@jormon Google turned up this gist, and I'm running into the same installation issue via the App Store. Did you find a good solution for this issue?

I'm also having this issue with a release we just pushed out into the App Store.... solution welcome!

We're also having the same problem. Question is if we should remove the app from the store or wait for Apple to fix it...

Update: We suspect that it’s because we had a newer build uploaded to iTunes connect than the one actually released. It seems reasonable that it expects a build number of the latest build uploaded. Still, Apple should fix this.

Just an updated. I upped the version of our app, created a new version in itunes connect, then and submitted an expedited request to apple to review the app again. Once it got reviewed (took about 12 hours for the request to escalate), I was able to release the new app and solve my problems.

At the end of the day, from reviewing the logs, it appears that we had 2 different builds loaded into itunes connect for potential publishing... 4.62 (0) and 4.62 (1)... we selected 4.62 (0) for the request, and based on the error, it would appear that you should also pick the higher of the build numbers instead.

We also fixed it by pushing a new version and expediting. In our case iTunes Connect had a later CFBundleVersion (10007005 vs 10007002) version for the same ShortVersion (1.0.7) which seems to be part of the mixup. However, this has been the case for all of our 10 previous App Store releases, so taking that into consideration with the fact that we were not the only ones with this issue in the last few days I think it was a bug on Apple's end.

To avoid this issue in the future we decided on the following changes on our end:

• Don't release late on a Friday (makes it more difficult to get Apple's help)
• Never push additional CFBundleVersions under the same ShortVersion once it goes into review

The latter one is a bit of a bummer because it means we can't continue pushing external TestFlight beta builds without another beta review (which is why we always had additional versions after the App Store one was submitted), but it's something we can live with if it means safer release cycles.
