  1. Download the jar file : https://github.com/Rub21/auto-tools/raw/split/dist/auto_tools.jar.

  2. Copy auto_tools.jar to your plugins directory, in Mac: ~/Library/JOSM/plugins using the following command in terminal: cp ~/Downloads/auto_tools.jar ~/Library/JOSM/plugins/auto_tools.jar

  3. If you are using windows/Linux please go through the wiki documentation on installing a plugin manually: https://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/Help/Preferences/Plugins#Manuallyinstallingplugins

  4. Go to JOSM Preferences>Plugins>auto_tools and activate the auto_tools plugin.

  5. Use the Auto Tools/Splitting tool in the Menu or use the shortcut T and double clicking a way to split the OSM way quickly.
