Lead TA on Le Wagon part-time

Here is a list of guidelines you should follow during a part-time session:

1) Introduce the staff of the day for each session

This is the best way to kickstart the session and have everyone concerned and motivated.

2) You are the referrer for students

Students should know they can report any problem to you.

3) You are the referrer for TAs

TAs might not be able to resolve a ticket or answer a question. They should feel supported and be able to report questions to you. If you have an unresolved problem you can ask to your city lead teacher or driver.

4) Be proactive

Student's are most of the time tired after a long day of work. You should encourage your team to reach each of them and check if they are fine.

5) Encourage students to make tickets

Students should learn how to make tickets early on. If a student has a question and you are available ask him to make a ticket and take it.

6) Identify missing students

Send a message on the batch-teachers-channel at the end of each session mentionning who was missing. This will help the whole team keep an eye on potencial drops.

7) Encourage students to ask questions on Slack between sessions

The lead teacher will answer and this will help them gather more information between sessions.

8) Share a motivation message at the end of the session

To keep the motivation during all those month we need to encourage our students and congratulate when they perform well. e.g: Great job today @channel! I know that self is confusing at first but you all nailed the challenges, I’m super impressed! Make sure you go through the flashcards before your next session on Tuesday and enjoy the weekend

How to prepare the Q&A

The goal of the Q&A session is to..

  • As a Lead TA you should have some questions prepared for the class.

  • Feedback of the Q&A session
