sudo dnf update
sudo dnf install pybind11-devel python3-pybind11
git clone https://github.com/DisplayLink/evdi && cd evdi
make
(might be redundant, but I am not sure)sudo mkdir /usr/src/evdi-1.14.3/ && sudo cp ./module/* /usr/src/evdi-1.14.3/
- Note: 1.14.3 was the next patch number for the driver i.e the release at this time was 1.14.2 and since I am using the master branch which is newer than the release; I just upped it by one
sudo dkms build -m evdi -v 1.14.3 --force
sudo dkms install -m evdi -v 1.14.3
- Go to the displaylink-rpm latest release page
- Downloaded the Fedora 39 v5.8.0-1 RPM
- This was just the latest release for my fedora version (39) when this was written - use the appropiate one for your OS and time
sudo dnf install /home/user/Downloads/fedora-39-displaylink-1.14.1-2.x86_64.rpm
to install the rpm
After one final reboot - I logged in then plugged in the USB monitor and it worked!
