Your linker line needs to use $(CXX), not $(CC), in order for C++ programs using the standard libraries to link correctly. At least, it does for me.

Thanks for this -- seems like a great starting point! I did run into an error with it, possibly because my source files are not in a subdirectory, but possibly not:

find: paths must precede expression: foobar.cpp' find: possible unquoted pattern after predicate -name'?

A little searching suggested enclosing the patterns in single quotes might be useful, and it was!
