Non-English text disappears in prototype mode (case with component & overlay features)

Reported on Jul 4, 2023 to Figma Support Contact

Update (Jul 6) They fixed it🎉

According to the follow-up from Figma support, now the engineers have published a fix for this problem. I have confirmed that this problem is not reproducible anymore. I appreciate their expeditious action. 🎉🙏

Update (Jul 5) Hint from support

According to the answer from the Figma support, we can deal with it by choosing "Noto Sans JP" for the font explicitly. They are taking effort for investigation of this issue.

Summary

When I use the non-English (Japanese in my case) text together with the two features (component and tap-to-overlay), the Non-English text in a component instance disappears, as per this video: https://gist.github.com/kaorukobo/cffa32917d0115fd3ca48d45719d04ec/raw/a3dacd75f023ed4e2c1dfc347fdb05ee00ced322/Text%2520Disappear%2520Bug.mov

  2. Go to the prototype mode.
  3. At "Home" page, click the "Menu".
  4. OK. You can see the Japanese text: En/日本語
  5. Click "Go Another Page".
  6. Click the "Menu".
  7. You'll see the bug: En/

Expected Behavior

En/日本語 appears at step 6.
