About Kenny Rogers

Hey there! I’m Kenny Rogers (no relation).

I’m an American developer, designer, writer, entrepreneur, and the sole voice behind KenRogers.co.

This website is my home base on the internet. It’s where I help aspiring developers learn how to wade through the complexities of the web development world and launch and grow fulfilling careers as web developers.

The core problem I want to address and help solve with this site is this:

Being a professional developer is a rewarding, fulfilling, and fun career. But it can be overwhelming to try and navigate all the resources out there, figure out what exactly you should learn, and put yourself out there to get a fantastic first job.

Most people have seen the all too common Catch 22 of needing experience for pretty much every job listing out there, but wondering how in the world to get that experience if every job requires it.

There are existing solutions to this, like college and intensive bootcamps with job placements, but they are very expensive and usually very time-consuming.

People that have existing commitments and careers are stuck trying to piece together different tutorials and a course here and there, while being left without a concise, step by step roadmap to launching their career.

This site exists to bridge that gap.

My goal is to provide a step by step plan and system for aspiring developers to launch and grow fulfilling careers, without having to spend years and thousands of dollars on expensive education.

While I work mostly in react, most of my writing is language/framework-agnostic, and I focus on the learning and career growth process.

Why Should You Listen to Me?

I’m not a guru. I don’t have all the answers. There are probably countless other ways to accomplish what I’m talking about without doing it my way.

But I’ve been where you are.

I was working two low-paying jobs while trying to start a family and teach myself coding all at the same time.

I understand the struggle of having such limited time and resources but wanting so badly to start your career as a developer.

After a whole lot of trial and error and learning as much as I could, I was able to land my first job as a Junior Dev.

I’m still a working developer and am constantly learning and trying new ways of growing and optimizing my career, and figuring out the best way to help others do the same.

The primary way that I communicate all of this information is through my newsletter, which you can sign up for right here.

If you subscribe here, I’ll only email you when I have a new piece of writing to share with you. You can also enroll in my free email course if you’d like.

Blog Why and Goal

Why should someone read my blog?

I focus on how to help people that are currently wanting to make a career transition to being a develop, but have very limited time and resources.

I focus on eliminating distractions, and implementing effective systems to get you to launch your career.

Rather than teaching specific technology stacks, I teach people how to figure out what they should learn, the best way to learn it, and how to effectively demonstrate their knowledge to potential employers.

Most importantly, I teach people how to do that in an organized, structured, repeatable way, so they can stop getting distracted by the shiny object syndrome that plagues so much of the development industry.

I’m uniquely qualified to teach and write about these things because I’ve gone through that exact thing.

I had to drop out of college because I ran out of money, and learned web development on my own using online resources while working two low-paying jobs and starting a family.

The goal of my blog

The goal of my blog is to provide a means of attracting newsletter subscribers to whom I can sell one or multiple courses designed to help people at each stage of their development careers. Similar to how Mariah Coz runs her blog and courses.
