Open Source Project Pitches

Hi instructor team. Thanks for taking a look at my pitches. These are in order of preference.

  • Why: I use shoulda matchers all the time, there is a great contributing.md, and lots of open issues up that look accessible. I also really like thoughtbot.
  • What: This issue fixing a misleading message might be a great place to get started.
  • I need: To get the development environment setup locally and start diving into one of the issues.
  • When I'm done: I will submit some PRs and hopefully get some feedback on them and get them in there!
  • Why: I worked on this already with Jason Noble and feel like I can jump right in and get to work and will probably get my PRs merged in. Also it is interesting to write an activerecord like wrapper and is great practice with APIs.
  • What: Continue to add models / resources to the files and start to build out more of the endpoints based on the pivotal tracker docs.
  • I need: To talk to Jason to make sure he'll have the time to review some of these PRs eventually.
  • When I'm done: I'll submit PRs and probably get some feedback from Jason and keep revise them so he can hopefully merge them in!
  • Why: I have experience using Faraday, want to learn more about how it works, and it seems like there are some reasonable issues up that I could contribute to. And it seems like they're getting ready for a big release and so there are lots of recent updates on the gem.
  • What: There is an issue to bolster some documentations that seems like a reasonable place to start.
  • I need: To get the development setup running locally based on the contributing.md
  • When I'm Done: I will submit a PR to the issue following the conventions of PRs that are up.
