Hey, despite the risk of bricking the device, did you try to use the sysupgrade binary which seems to be delivered in the original OS?

But first, I'd backup all mtd partitions, especially the ART partition, which is very difficult to restore if you don't have a backup...

Also got a V2 C59, but the US Version.

The funny thing is, the US Version 1.00 and US Version 2.00 have EXACTLY the same FCC ID... don't know if this is possible if it is not technically the same device. Though it would mean that only some restrictions to the bootloader have been made so no one could easyly upload a third party firmware... but I am only guessing.
