Date: 12/8/2012
Schedule:
Teams Arrive -- 4PM
Round 1 -- 5PM
Consecutive rounds will occur as soon as possible (as soon as both teams are ready).
Details about the tournament can be found here: https://gist.github.com/3823081
The Procedure that teams will follow to start the tournament and for each match is detailed here: https://gist.github.com/4226788
All players are expected to abide by the tournament rules, available here: https://gist.github.com/4228143
All major communication will be done through the in game chat channel "CWRUTourney
".
Other Ways to get in touch with the admins:
Email: Cleaver.John.K@gmail.com
Teamspeak: puddinserv.case.edu (Channel: Main-> LoL Tournament -> Admins)
In Game: Kihashi
A listing of each team and the members' summoner names is available here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AnzmVx4zCPspdEJobmZaZmJEQVNqeWE5N2tzNFZoTHc
This sheet also includes things like their main roles and their best champs, which might help when casting.
If you need to contact the team, message the captain in game. If you have any problems contacting a team, contact the admins (team captains are all on site at the LAN).
The game bracket will be run through Challonge.com. The updated bracket will always be available here: http://challonge.com/cwrulol2012
Since the tournament is Double Elimination, each round will have the following matches:
Round 1: 4 Matches
Round 2: 4 Matches
Round 3: 3 Matches
Round 4 (Losers SemiFinals): 1 Match
Round 5 (Losers Bracket Finals): 1 Match
Round 6-7 (Grand Finals Bo3): 1 Match each.
This works out such that each casting duo will get to cast 4 games, except for one casting duo, who will get 3 games.
Each casting duo will cast a game during the first 2 rounds. After that the admins will assign casting duos to the remaining matches. The duo deemed the best will cast the grand finals matches. Other duos will be assigned matches from the remaining rounds arbitrarily (unless there is a time conflict with one of the duos schedules).
NOTE: This means that the duo casting the grand finals will have some down time during rounds 3-5. Let me know if that is a problem.
The admins of the tournament would like to have a group of VoDs for after the tournament. The best way that I can think of doing this is that you each put the games you cast on your youtube channel and send me a link. I will then put together a playlist of all of the games. If you can think of a better way to do it or there are any problems doing it that way, let me know.
VoD titles should be consistent.
Example: CWRU LoL Tournament: Team 1 vs Team 2 Winners Bracket Round 2 (12/8/2012)
The majority of the audience are going to be college aged males who regularly play the game. Most will be familiar with champions and abilities. being that this is probably one of the first tournaments on the new patch, expect that no one knows what any items do (I would also expect that they will cut you some slack in that regard as well). I am also pretty sure that most people that will be watching, will be watching at the event, so your viewing numbers will ne larger than represented by your streaming service.
At the moment, I only have a projector confirmed as far as at event spectating. For the moment, the plan is to have one "Featured" match shown on it. If I can get some more TVs or projectors, I will have those set up with other streams.
I will need the following information from each caster:
Summoner Name
Email
Stream Link (One per Duo)
