Finals Structure

Following the completion of the circuit, there will be a LAN tournament for the the top teams in the circuit.

  • The tournament will be held on the weekend on May 4th (Exact date TBA based on reservations).
  • The tournament will be between the top 4 teams based on win/loss record form the circuit.

  • For each match, the team with the better circuit record will be the home team.
    • The home team will call the coin toss to determine choice of first or second pick.
  • In the finals, the 5th match will be blind pick, rather than tournament draft.

NOTE: Players are allowed to participate remotely, howver they are encouraged to attend the LAN.

NOTE: A large viewing area for matches will be set up. The admins will make sure that it is good this time.

Team Creation and Composition

  • Teams will consist of five summoners who are members of the Case community (students, former students, and alumni).
    • Students of the Cleveland Institutes of Art and Music are also allowed to participate.

Team Captains

  • Each team will have a summoner who is designated as their team captain.
  • Team captains will remain the same throughout the tournament.
    • If a team captain is replaced during the circuit (see section below), another member of the team may be designated captain for the duration of the circuit.
  • All official tournament communications will be delivered to the team captains.
  • Any communication by a team with the tournament admins should be done by the team captain.
  • Any communication with another team will be done by having the captain contact the captain of that team.

Team Members

Each team member, including captains, must meet the following criteria:

  • Have a level 30 summoner account on the North American Servers that is not banned during the duration of the circuit.
    • If a team member's account is banned by Riot during the course of the circuit, refer to the section below on replacing team members during the circuit.
  • Must own at least 16 champions such that the player can play tournament draft games.

Match Rules

  • Each match will be a best of 3 following the procedure below.
  • Any player may stream their matches.
    • It is the player's responsibility to take steps to prevent ghosting.
  • Players must use the summoner account that they are registered with during matches.

Procedure

  1. Find your pairing on the tournament bracket website.
  2. Contact the captain of the opposing team to schedule a time to have the match.
    1. If you have been selected as the feature match of the week, contact the tournament admins with the time and date of the match.
  3. Contact the tournament admins with a number between one and ten thousand.
    • The admins will generate a random number in that range.
    • The team with the number closest to the generated number will have first pick.
  4. Ensure that your team members are all present at least 10 minutes before the scheduled match time.
  5. Have the captain of the team with first pick create a custom game of type Tournament Draft on Summoner's Rift.
  6. The captain will invite all relevant parties (his team, his opponents, casters, other spectators).
  7. Once all teams members are ready (and in the desired pick order), the host team captain will ask the other team and casters if they are ready to begin, and starts the game if so.
  8. If necessary, another game will be made by the losers of the game (losers get first pick).

No Shows

If a team is not prepared to play at the appointed time, the following penalties will be levied:

  • 10 Minutes Late -- Lose 1 Ban
  • 15 Minutes Late -- Game Loss
  • 30 Minutes Late -- Match Loss

No substitute players are allowed. Each team must play with the members registered to it.

Match Scheduling Problems

A date cannot be found

In the case that a match cannot be scheduled during the week that it is supposed to be played:

  1. One of of the captains will send an email to the admins as well as the captain of the other team with the following:
    1. A reason why the match cannot be scheduled during the proper week.
    2. A date on which the match will be played.
  2. The other team captain will reply confirming this information.
  3. The tournament admins will review the information received and either approve or deny the make up match.
    • If approved, the match will be played on the specified date.
    • If denied, both teams will recieve a match loss.

Communication Issues

In the event that a team captain has tried to communicate with the opposing captain and has not heard back by Wednesday at midnight:

  1. The team captain should email the admins with proof of the attempted communication.
  2. The team that has not responded will forfeit the match.
  • A listing of all captains and their contact information will be made available to all other captains.
  • If, before Wedesday at midnight, the captain that is having trouble notifies the admins, the admins will attempt to help communicate with the opposing team.

Player Disconnects

If a player disconnects during the course of the game, the match should be paused.

Regame

A game may be remade provided that:

  1. The game has not been finished.
  2. Both teams agree to it.

A regame should only be done in the case that both teams think that it is necessary to ensure a fair and balanced match.

Regame Rules

  • A regame must be done with the same picks and bans.

Replacing a Team Member

If for some reason, a team member needs to be replaced during the tournament (account ban, academic problems, etc.), the follwing will happen:

  1. The team captain will contact the admins with the reason that the team member can no longer participate in the tournament as well as the name of the proposed replacement.
    • If the member ot be replaced is the team captain, the remaining members will elect a new captain and that person will contact the admins.
  2. The admins will approve or deny the replacement.
    • If the admins deny the replacement, the team may propose another.
    • More leniency will be allowed for teams who have members that cannot make the finals.
  • No more than two replacements may be made during the circuit.
    • A team without at least 3 original members is disqualified from the remainder of the circuit.
