An guide how to activate Windows 11 Pro for free

Why?

Because you will get some more features like an Bitlocker and host your device as an External Desktop which can be accessed through the internet

Am i also able to switch from any other edition to Pro?

The answer is yes! You can switch from almost any edition to Pro completely for free!

Note for users with unactivated Pro edition

People which already have Pro, but not activated, can skip to this step.

Getting started

What you first need to do is open CMD (Command Prompt) as Administrator using this keyboard key:

Windows-logo key+ R

And now type in "cmd.exe" in the box

It should now look as something like this:

Now press this keys on your keyboard:

ctrl+shift+enter

Now you have something like this:

Now, click on "yes"

Now you have something like this:

The commands

Now, type the following command: slmgr.vbs /upk Now it will give an message, click on OK

And now this command: slmgr.vbs /cpky It will give an message once again, and click on OK again

And now type this command: slmgr.vbs /ckms Once again click on OK when you get an message

Edition upgradable check command

Now we are gonna check of your edition is supported to upgrade to Pro, run the following command to check this: DISM /online /Get-TargetEditions If you see "Professional" in the list, then you can upgrade your Windows edition to Pro for free!

Running Windows Pro installer

Now, copy and paste this complete command:

sc config LicenseManager start= auto & net start LicenseManager

sc config wuauserv start= auto & net start wuauserv

changepk.exe /productkey VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T

exit

It will run an installer and you will see an message:"% complete"

Now wait until it's 100% and it's not weird that you will get an error

When you get the error, just click Exit and then reboot your pc.

You will now see an message that he is running updates and is installing features, just wait until its done and check "info" in settings, You will see that Windows 11 Pro is installed!

But we are not done, You will see that it isn't activated and that you can't change some settings, now we are gonna fix that!

Activating Windows Pro

Now we are gonna run some other commands to activate Windows 11 Pro

Press these keyboard keys once again:

Windows-logo key+R

It looks like this again:

Press ctrl+shift+enter

You will get an message, just click on Yes

Now you will get an Command Prompt.

Type the following commands one for one to activate:

slmgr /ipk W269N-WFGWX-YVC9B-4J6C9-T83GX

slmgr /skms kms8.msguides.com

slmgr /ato

Now you have Windows 11 Pro and it activated! You can check settings to see it.

I was just about to give up and purchase Windows 11, but then I noticed that it's actually activated now all of a sudden... I guess that maybe a few reboots helped?
So, for those of you who get the same error as I did, just have patience and wait for 2-3 days with a couple of system reboots, lol! :P

well, it worked! i don't have any idea why some other people are posting links to websites to buy keys here if this is as simple as it was. it did say i had enterprise before i activated it, and i had to run the slmgr /ato command twice. much thanks!

Did not work for me unfortunately. I had a copy of windows 11 before this, which I got for free somewhere on the internet. It was just like this, some code that i had to put in CMD and it worked for about a year. This year I bought a new motherboard, CPU and RAM and it worked fine (since I think may 2023). In march 2024 I got the activate windows watermark and an error code 0x8007007B saying that it can't connect to the activation server. So I tried this but I get the following:

Translation is basically that it failed and error code 0x80070490.

Edit: From here I managed to fix the first issue (0x8007007B)
Then, if you get error 0x80070490 try this in powershell (got it from the same tool in the link above check here):
DISM /Online /English /Disable-Feature /FeatureName:"NetFx3"

Even if it simple and it works, its a temporary activation, once the kms server used is down, windows will lose the activation,so it's better to buy a cheap windows 11 pro key, sftkey has a great deal

If it doesn't work for you try doing the commands listed under "Activating Windows Pro" again the first time it didn't work because it failed to connect, then I just did the exact same thing in the command prompt after it gave me an error and it worked

So if you have trouble with the last part for activation. You can go to your settings and use the GUI instead of cmd to activate. Just copy key from code line. Good Luck. You're totally wrong, while organization activation key itself doesn't enable remote access, it will require other tools to be installed and grant permission for remote access.

The activation key itself doesn't enable remote access at all, unless you install any other tools along with it. Please do not post false information which you have no idea about. Key is completely safe to use.

This Method only seams to work on some machines. Personally it worked perfectly for me. If I was doing this again I would create a system restore point before attempting this, this means that If this does not work then I can go back and don't have to live with a unactuated version of Windows.

i succussfully managed to activate pro after following the guide once again i probably either missed a step or did something incorrectly

Installation worked fine, but Windows update don't work anymore. Says Error 0x8000ffff

Edit: seems to be working after reboot
