  • Your key take-aways OR how you're going to implement specific points (minimum 3):
  • Understand the "what" and "why" before the "how." The general overview will help you learn vs copy and pasting knowledge.
  • Use the tools given with Google to make a more specific search. Through narrowing down the time frame as well as a specific phrase, you are more likely to find the results you are looking for.
  • Although programming requires so much input of letters, numbers, and symbols, user interaction is a huge part and taking advantage of Google images may help find that specific guide or layout you have been visualizing.
  • Your key take-aways OR how you're going to implement specific points (minimum 2):
  • Often, the idea of asking questions or not knowing something shows a lack of skill. In reality, knowledge comes from curiosity and wonder.
  • Use Google(and all of the tools and resources given) frequently.
  • Briefly describe (in your own words) each of the tips below AND provide an example of a search that captures the sentiment of the tip
  • Tip 2: Use quotes for more specific results. If you are searching where to buy boutique clothes and keep getting Target as a result, put "boutique" in quotes for better results.
  • Tip 3: Use hyphens to exclude words. This helps you search for something with multiple definitions like "rose." A -flower might help you find a rose color or a past tense definition of rise.
  • Tip 4: Use colon for specific sights. If you are tired of digging through poor resources in google and just want etsy results for that cute trinket, "horse necklace site:etsy.com" might help.
  • Tip 9: Use multiple words in search. Using this will help narrow down your search.
  • Tip 13: Use words that a website would use. Not everything on the internet is in question form for google to solve and using a phrase like "png to jpeg convertor" will yield different results than "how do i convert my png to jpeg file."
  • Tip 14: Use important words. Similar to previous tip but instead, the bad example would be "website for converting jpeg image and turning it to png."
  • Tip 17: Use specific words. If you aren't getting the results with "painting video," try "painting tutorial."
