Month 1 Goals

  • Strong enough JS skills where I can/could do all Mod 1 projects in JS
  • Understand Node
  • Can design a responsive HTML page without needing to reference documentation
  • Can develop the guts of a D3 chart without needing to reference documentation
  • Start to develop a professional network

Strategy To Achieve Goals:

Coding:

  • Make all of my police charts in 100% D3 - without another library
  • Learn SASS & learn to build better/modular/responsive CSS - redo all views in my Mod3 personal project
  • Learn Node properly
  • Make one animated D3 chart
  • Refresh Ruby skills
  • Work through Eloquent Javascript
  • Read Bootstrap docs

Professional Development/Network:

  • Meet 2-4 new people in the field each week
  • Identify 1 job I’m interested in per week (and apply)
  • Meet with at least 1 Turing colleague per week
  • Volunteer at B&G club 2x’s a month
  • Code for Denver 2x’s a month
  • 1 Blog Post

Life:

  • Clean my house
  • Transition my closet to winter
