Open positions: Assistant Professors in Computer Science
Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Engineering
University of Victoria

The Department of Computer Science in the Faculty of Engineering at
the University of Victoria is seeking applications for up to four
tenure track faculty positions at the assistant professor level with
an expected start date of July 1, 2017.

We seek individuals with demonstrated potential to build an
internationally recognized, externally funded, exceptional research
program in the following broad research areas:
●     Computer Systems, such as smart cyber physical systems,
distributed systems, cloud computing, and computer architecture
●     Data Science, such as big data analytics, optimization, machine
learning, social networks, computational linguistics, and
visualization
●     Software Engineering, such as human computer interaction,
software quality, architecture, modeling, verification, validation,
and testing
●     Visual Computing, such as computer graphics and vision

At most two positions are available per area. Candidates are expected
to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in research, graduate
student supervision, and teaching. They should demonstrate their
interest in collaborating in all aspects of an academic department.
