Hello,

I'm requesting several things relating to the software used to manage elections in New York State, and the data this software produces.

What I am requesting is:

  1. A copy of all contracts for software and machinery currently used to manage elections in New York State.

  2. A copy of all instruction manuals for software and machinery currently used to manage elections in New York State.

  3. A copy of all non-private election data from software currently used to manage elections in New York State, or used to manage elections in New York State in any year from 1994 to the present. By "election data", I mean information in its original, database format as produced or exported by the software that was used to manage elections in New York State at the time of the election. For example, this can include (but is not limited to) spreadsheets or database files, but would not include PDF renditions of this information.

If you expect the cost of supplying this information to exceed 50 dollars, before proceeding with the request, please contact me with the expected cost and a detailed justification of the expenses.

I am not requesting paper versions of any of this information. I am only requesting digital material. If the material is too large to feasibly e-mail, please contact me so that we can arrange effective digital transmission of the material.

To Whom It May Concern,

The included FOIL request is a followup to an earlier request that I filed on August 26, 2013, and to which I received a response on September 16, 2013.

I am submitting this request in paper form because I was unable to submit this via the digital form, as I was able to in the prior case. The error stated that I was using improper characters, but I was unable to discern or fix the underlying issue.
